Recycle, Recycle, Recycle!
Good tidings to all! With much focus on the environment and the need to recycle, I suggest everyone save their aluminum cans for all of the following logical reasons: (1) it's good for the environment, (2) we drink soda from a can anyway, and (3) the money we get from recycling can be applied towards the reunion fund. I know, I know, some may argue the point that recycling is simply not worth the time and effort. But think about it folks. It doesn't take much time and effort to recycle. For instance, it only takes 2 seconds to crush the can and discard it in the receptacle of your choice. You don't even pull a muscle. Never mind it's a great way to relieve stress. Once your receptacle is full, it only takes 5 minutes to gather it up and throw it in your vehicle (if even that). The point I'm trying to make is that it truly is not burdensome. Granted, in the end, you may only get $20-$25 per trash bag. But hey, in this economy, $20-$25 is still $20-$25. But what happens if you multiply that figure by...say...12 (for 12 months). The total is $240-$300. Let's go even further. Let's see...there's Aurora's family, Betty's family, Josie's family, Eva's family, Dora, and Ms. Eva...that's 6 households (I'm including Jay's and Michelle's brood with Aurora's family and Rudy's brood with Betty's)...now the total comes to....$1440-$1800. That figure is based on one year's time. Remember, we have two years to prepare for this reunion. So now, let's multipy the last figures by 2 (for 2 years) and what do we get? A whopping $2880-$3600 to spend on the reunion!!!!!! That figure does not include what may be contributed and/or donated privately. Please folks, have I made my case? This is only a suggestion, but it must be admitted that it's a good suggestion.
